Although the season is over (and they came in second in the playoffs), Reed's tball team had a little team get together at the Flying Squirrels game Saturday night and Holly and I took the kids. Before the game, the tball players were presented with trophies by the FS mascot, Nutzy. Then, they said the national anthem on the field with the Flying squirrels players and lets not forget the Chik Fil A cow and calf - don't the players look HUGE standing behind the tballers?
After going to two birthday parties and swimming a couple of times earlier in the day, Reed was exhausted but did enjoy himself, especially that trophy. I mean, if he was half asleep and you put a trophy in his hand, he would spring up and be fully alert. Giving that boy a trophy is like giving him a Re.d B.ull. Energizing!! Unfortunately, the energizing effect wore off by the fourth inning and we were outta there by the end of the fifth. This is the first season for the Flying Squirrels and we were very impressed with the action going on between innings. The game was full of excitement. Any of my Richmond peeps who have not been to a game this season need to go. You will not be disappointed.
