It's baseball time!

Our pajama loving, young lady of leisure wanted to try baseball this spring. Thank goodness most of the snow is gone and temps are starting to climb because she had baseball try-outs Saturday. It took hours and it was, well, without sounding too judgemental, interesting. Let's just say we thought it funny when we parked next to a truck with a camouflage paint job - who does that? We also saw many children - boys and girls - wearing camouflage. Not cute camo printed kids clothes - more like big brothers authentic camo sweatshirt with rips and holes. That along with many parents sporting tight sweats, greasy ponytails, smoking like freight trains made this a great people watching experience. I don't really mean to sound like a snot. These folks are probably much more authentic than a lot of the Starbucks toting, Polo wearing, non-smoking yuppies that we are used to seeing on the sidelines of the soccer field. It just seemed, for a moment, that we had entered a foreign land. A land that we used to live right in the middle of. I think all this means is I really need to get out more.

Reed was so interested in the try-outs that we signed him up for T-ball. He has his first practice tonight with an exotic-sounding Coach Santiago. A new adventure is about to begin.
